SHILLONG: HSPDP legislator Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit has charged the Ri-Bhoi district administration with misleading the public with claims that it had convinced the Assam authorities to return the construction materials meant for construction of a kitchen shed of an SSA school at Sabuda.

“As per the footage available with the media, the women folk along with the school children had gone to the Assam police outpost to recover the construction material,” Basaiawmoit said during the Question Hour of the Autumn Session of the Assembly here on Thursday.

“The officers should report facts to the State Government,” the HSPDP legislator said.

Earlier, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma had stated that Assam authorities had returned the construction materials meant for the kitchen shed of an SSA school at Sabuda village, Ri-Bhoi district.

“The district administration of Ri-Bhoi district along with the Assam authorities on July 22, 2013 were able to convince them to return back the construction of materials meant for the kitchen shed of the school, seized by them on July 20, 2013, and the same was done in the presence of the church leader who is also the secretary of the school,” Dr Sangma said.
