SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Friday launched the e-CST service for the department of Taxation, a facility available for the dealers in the e-services portal for online requisition and issuance of various statutory forms under Central Sales Tax (CST) Act.
Launching the service at the Conference Hall in the Secretariat here on Friday, Dr Sangma said that this is another endeavour of the State government to equip the departments with the latest technology as per the need of the hour.
“Such new interventions would upscale the efficiency of the department,” he said.
Dr Sangma, also minister in-charge of Taxation, has been holding this portfolio for a long time since 2003-2004 when the revenue generated was Rs 88 crore. With time, the department is now targeting a revenue generation of Rs 700 crore.
