NONGPOH: The indefinite hunger strike called by the Ri Bhoi District Selection Commission Passed Candidates’ Association entered its third day on Thursday with as many as five agitators being rushed to Nongpoh Civil Hospital after their health deteriorated. The five candidates who were shifted to the hospital have been identified as Kyrmen Nongkseh, Brekstar Shylla, Banri Jana, Iba Lyngdoh and Bankeris Wahlang.

Even as the candidates are unwilling to call off their indefinite hunger strike, the Ri Bhoi district administration is silent on the issue with no response from their side so far.

Despite this, the agitating candidates have resolved to continue with their stir until the government addresses their grievances.
