Workshop

A one-day workshop on Physical Education and Sports: Role of Academic Institutions in the present scenario, organised by the Sports Committee of Shillong College will be held at the College Conference Hall on December 5 at 10 am.

Conclave

The Meghalaya Green Mission will organise a one-day State-level stakeholders’ conclave under Mission Green at the Secretariat Auditorium, Yojana Bhavan on December 5 at 10 am. Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma will attend as the chief guest.

Seminar

The ICSSR North Eastern Regional Centre, Shillong is organising a two-day national seminar on Democracy and Development in India’s North East: Challenges and Opportunities on December 6-7 at ICSSR-NERC conference room, NEHU campus. The inaugural function will be held on Dec 6 at 10 am.

Office bearers

The Dorbar Pyllun of Dong Mission held on November 30 has elected new office bearers for 2013-2016 with Geoffrey S Basan as Rangbah Shnong, Tomley M Rumnong as Assistant Rangbah Shnong, Don Kupar War as secretary, David M Blein as assistant secretary, Thio Passah as treasurer and Tbn H Mawroh as adviser, besides other executive members.

Cleaning drive

The Dorbar Pyllun of Dong Mission will conduct the annual cleaning drive of Dong Mission on December 14 from 7 am onwards. Entry of vehicles will be restricted on that day until 11 am.

Event

Y4C-Shillong and Action Aid will collaboratively organise an event ‘Turning the gaze – Women Through The Lens’ at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, on December 5 and 6.

Assessment

St Mary’s College of Teacher’s Education, Shillong, has been re-assessed and reaccredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Team from November 20-28.
