Shillong Carnival extended till December 15

SHILLONG: The flagship trade event of Meghalaya – the 8th International Shillong Shopping Carnival – which started on November 29 last has been extended till December 15. The fair was earlier scheduled till December 12.

International Shillong Shopping Carnival 2013 is an initiative of the Industries and Trade Fair Association of Assam with the support of National Jute Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and Govt. of Meghalaya at Madan Iewrynghep, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.

Apart from South Africa the other foreign countries participating in the fair are Thailand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the first two-wheeler on lucky draw of entry tickets has been won by an 11-month-old girl Rachel Lalruatdiki Pachuau, whose parents bought the entry ticket on her name. The draw was held on December 7 last in the presence of senior members of Laitumkhrah Dorbar Shnong Pyllun and Laitumkhrah Sports, Social and Cultural Club.

The final lottery for the second two-wheeler will be held on December 15.
