NONGSTOIN: The body of a 17-year-old youth from Umdum under Mariaw Syiemship of West Khasi Hills District was found hanging by the neck in a forest near Umdum village.
Sources said the incident took place on the night of January 5 when he had left his home but did not return. After prolonged search, family members and villagers found the body hanging from a tree.
Police rushed to the spot to investigate the matter but the reason behind the death remains a mystery.
