SHILLONG:  Opposition UDP is likely to raise the issue of the alleged nexus between Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma and the Garo Hills-based rebel uoutfit ANVC (B) during its meeting with President Pranab Mukherjee at Delhi on Tuesday.
Two UDP legislators — Tistosstarwell Chyne and Jemino Mawthoh — are part of the North East Regional Parties’ Front (NERPF) delegation led by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphu Rio.
The delegation is scheduled to meet the President to submit the 17-point resolution which they had passed during NERPF’s general council meeting held in Guwahati on October 26 last year.
.”We have come to Delhi as part of the NERPF delegation. We are planning to separately raise the issue about the alleged nexus of the Chief Minster with the ANVC before the President,” Mawthoh said while speaking over telephone from Delhi on Monday.
“Even though the issue which they will be raising is specific to Meghalaya, NERPF has decided to support us when we raise the Mukul-ANVC-B nexus issue before the Centre,” Mawthoh said.
He also informed that they would raise this issue before Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj.
Meanwhile, he said that the NERPF would be meeting various Central leaders to highlight its 17 points resolution.
Earlier, the NPP supremo and former Lok Sabha Speaker Purno Agitok Sangma had also said that a delegation under his leadership would meet the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister, Leader of Opposition of both Houses of Parliament to apprise them about the present law and order situation besides alleged nexus between the Chief Minister and the ANVC-B.
