Miscreants set coal-laden trucks on fire

JOWAI: Unknown miscreants set on fire two ten-wheeler vehicles (LPK TATA 2523) loaded with coal near Samasi village on Tuesday.

Fire completely damaged both the vehicles and the coal, Saipung Police sources said.

The vehicles, which belonged to one coal businessman Donush Siangshai of Ladrymbai, were coming from his coal quarry located at Mynthning village.

Sources said that unknown miscreants, around six in numbers, suspected to be from Samasi village, stopped both the trucks at gun point and later set them on fire

 after pouring petrol. The drivers fled from the scene.

According to Siangshai, the damage was estimated at Rs. 57 lack. He said the cost of one tipper truck is Rs. 27 lakh and cost of one truck coal is Rs. 1 lakh. He bought both the trucks four months ago.
