Couple found murdered

SHILLONG: Unidentified miscreants murdered a couple at the latter’s residence at Riahjalong village near Dawki, West Jaintia Hills on Monday.

West Jaintia Hills SP Herbert Lyngoh informed that police suspecting involvement of some unidentified Bangladeshis in the murder.

“The murderers could be from the same locality where the couple was working as a labourer,” he said. The deceased couple has been identified as Ramu Chettri (45/50 yrs) and his wife Andila Chettri (27/30) and they hail from Nepal. Police recovered three empty bottles of liquor and four glasses from the hut.
