Body recovered

  • On February 6, the body of Hanabelty Ryntathiang (37) was fished out from Lailad Umtrew river (RB). The deceased was reported missing from her residence at Umsohma village (RB), since January. 31.
  • On February 3, the body of Maniwel Mynsong (42) was found hanging in a jungle near Umraling village under Mawlasnai OP (RB).

Abduction

Regarding the abduction of Pohon Sangma from Upper Wageasi (NGH), report received indicates that the kidnapped victim was released unharmed by his abductors at Shallang bazar (WKH), on February 5 at about 2.00 pm and has returned home via Rongjeng (EGH).

Assault

On January 31 around 7:30 pm, Parinita Baruah (ex-wife of Dicky B Singh) and her accomplices assaulted Dicky B Singh and Jessica Marbaniang and threatened them with dire consequences near St. Xavier School, Polo, Shillong. Earlier, Parinita Baruah lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that her husband Dicky Singh and his family members tortured her mentally and physically since her marriage on March. 15, 2011. They demanded dowry and also threatened her.

Threat case

Maham Kharlukhi lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on January 29, 2013 at about 12 noon, two persons, Amris Ryngkhlem and Joseph Pariat threatened him, his family members and the villagers of Moodymmai village (WJH) with dire consequences.

Trespassing

On January  26, 28 and 30, Karenson Slong, John Passah, Ammon Slong and Kit Pariat of Moodymmai illegally entered into the Lum Mylyngngaing, Lum Lyngngaing and Lawim forests (WJH) and ferried logs in trucks (HR-61A-9552), (AS-01DC-8363) and (AS-01AC-0722).

Cheating case

Ines Tariang of Pomlakrai village (EKH) lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on January 17, 2013, he received one SMS from an unknown sender informing him that he had won a lottery of 50,000 Pounds and later asked him over phone to deposit Rs. 3,23,470 in order to claim the prize money, which the complainant deposited in different accounts. Again, on February 1, they demanded cash Rs. 2, 70,200 from him.
