SHILLONG: The State Cabinet on Wednesday approved the extension of service of the principal of Pine Mount School.
Briefing media persons after the meeting, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said that “This is a post-facto approval which is based on circumstances, which needed the extension of  the service of the principal of the school who retired from the post on December 31 last year,”.
The Chief Minister stated that the next person who was offered the post declined to accept it and there is rule in the ICSE that whoever holds this post must be post-graduate otherwise the conduct of examination process cannot be approved by the ICSE which is a procedural requirement.
Dr Sangma said, “The services of the retired principal will continue until the examinations are over and process of appointment is completed.”
