TURA: The banned GNLA has denied having any hand in the abduction of a Garo Students’ Union (GSU) leader who was kidnapped from Williamnagar on Monday.

GSU leader from Mendal in North Garo Hills district, Dreambirth G Momin, was kidnapped from Dobetkolgre locality of Williamnagar on Monday and his whereabouts remain unknown.

Denying his organisation’s involvement, GNLA deputy commander-in-chief Toding Ch Marak while speaking to The Shillong Times said that his organization had nothing to do with the missing incident involving a student leader.

“We do not target student leaders and innocent civilians. We have nothing to do with the incident and our organization is being blamed without any reason. We have come to know that the abduction of the GSU leader was done by the A’chik National Liberation Army (ANLA) outfit,” revealed the GNLA’s deputy military chief.

Meanwhile, the Garo Students’ Union president Tengsak G Momin has also denied his organization’s involvement in the coal auction tender in Williamnagar which was cancelled by the district administration following complaints from a section of the business community.
