SHILLONG: The four localities under Pynthorumkhrah constituency–Mawpat, Pynthorbah, Lumshyiap and Nongmensong–are facing an acute shortage of water and the localities recently discussed the matter with the Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of PHE RC Laloo in the presence of the local MLA AL Hek.
During the meeting which was held on Wednesday, the Rangbah Shnong and representatives of the localities mentioned about the inadequate supply of water though the work for the water scheme had already started in the area since 2009.
After the discussion, the Minister promised the delegation that he would inquire about the problem of shortage of water and status of water schemes from the Chief Engineer of PHE department to expedite the work. The Minister also assured that he would visit the area to ensure the completion of the water projects at the earliest.
