Martin Luther Christian University (Shillong and Tura Campus) will be organising a Career Counselling Programme called ‘Discover Yourself’ in Tura on March 29 and 30 from 10am-3pm. This is being organised with the media support and in partnership with Eastern Chronicle. This is being organized as part of the community-based programme of the university benefiting the student community in the Garo hills.

The Shillong Times first appeared as a tabloid weekly on 10th August 1945 under the editorship of Late Sudhindra Bhusan Chaudhuri. In 1958 it was converted to a Daily. Owing to financial constraints, within six months it reverted back to a weekly.
