Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) Ltd for promoting and giving a boost to the tourism sector of the state.
Tourism secretary Joram Beda represented the state government while IRCTC was represented by its regional manager John Lepcha during the MoU signing ceremony held here yesterday in presence of departmental officers, official sources informed on Thursday.
IRCTC has decided to tie up with the state government to provide value added tour package services and booking facilities in Arunachal Pradesh.
After signing ceremony was over, the team of officials visited the newly constructed and now operational railway station at Yupia to explore the feasibility of opening tourism facilitating centre in the railway station premises, sources added. (PTI)
