FIR filed against wholesaler for sale of sub-standard rice

TURA: An FIR has been filed against one K K Nath, wholesaler of M/s Meghalaya Store, Baghmara at the District Consumer Court and the Baghmara Police Station for allegedly selling sub-standard rice.

The complainant, Greneth Sangma who is the President of the Garo Student’ Union, Mindikgre Regional Unit informed that during a surprise enquiry of the Do’sogre Fair Price Shop Centre it was found that sub standard rice was being sold at the shop. The GSU leader in his FIR demanded that strong action be taken against owner. A copy of the FIR has also been submitted to the South Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman, District Consumer Forum.
