US plane makes emergency landing after dog poops thrice
New York: In a bizarre incident, a Philadelphia-bound US flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a dog defecated thrice in the centre aisle making the smelly ordeal unbearable for passengers on board.
The US Airways flight 598 was delayed for about two hours in Los Angeles and when the plane finally took off for Philadelphia, the passengers settled in for what they hoped would be a routine flight, but were woken up from their sound sleep to a horrible smell emanating from the “big dog” poop last week.
“About an hour into the flight, I started smelling this terrible smell. I look up the aisle way and there’s a dog pooping right in the middle of the aisle. It’s a big dog, 3′ to 4′ tall or long, and he was just going,” passenger Steve McCall told KCTV5. The pilot announced an emergency landing in Kansas City, Missouri as the plane had run out of paper towels and the “mess” was clogging the aisle. Passenger Chris Law took pictures and tweeted, “So the full-sized dog that’s on my flight, well it did what dogs do & went to the bathroom when it felt like it smack dab in the middle of aisle.”
The crew did their best to clean up service dog Truffles’ mess but the smell lingered in the cabin and the dog had to go again which pushed some passengers over the edge. “A couple of people started dry-heaving, a couple of people were throwing up,” McCall said. The crew again frantically tried to clean up the dog’s mess, but ran out of paper towels, New York Daily News reported.
The pilot decided to divert to Kansas City International Airport for a pit stop for ground crews to clean up and for the canine to take a more routine potty break. The dog’s owner was truly remorseful, passengers said. Passengers re-boarded the flight and continued their journey after the mess was cleared. The dog and its owner were re-booked on another flight. Man with stolen GPS calls police for help after getting lost
London: A man from US, who stole GPS (Global Positioning System), was arrested after he called police to ask them for help because he got lost.
Andrew James Joffe was unaware that a warrant had been issued for his arrest on driving offences when he contacted the authorities in Polk City, Florida.
Grady Judd, Sheriff of Polk County said that they had people with warrants who called them to turn themselves in before, but it was unusual for someone with an active warrant, who just burgled a car, to get lost and calling them for help. The 24-year-old had managed to get lost on rural roads in the early hours of Thursday morning and feared that he was being pursued by wild hogs. (ANI)
wedish artist plans to send first house to Moon
London: A Swedish artist is raising funds to send the first house to the Moon in 2015, which will self assemble within minutes on the lunar surface. The miniature house developed by artist and entrepreneur Mikael Genberg will look similar to a typical Swedish cottage, painted in red and white. The house is big enough to accommodate a grown human being and measures 3 meters by 2 meters with a roof height of 2.5 meters.
A specially developed cloth will be stretched over a carbon structure. The house will build itself after getting filled with gas. This will take minutes after being launched on the Moon. Genberg has worked on the project since 2003 with the aim of putting a red house with white corners on the surface of the Moon, according to TheMoonHouse website. The art project lost momentum in 2010 when the financial crisis struck, but is now up to 75 per cent complete after some of Sweden’s leading space engineers invested years of their time and effort to realise the venture. ‘Minder’ to stop paparazzi from taking Kate’s sneaky pics
London: A female “minder” will accompany Kate Middleton to stop unscrupulous photographers and members of the public from taking sneaky shots of the fashion-loving British Royal. The “minder” will accompany the 32-year-old Duchess of Cambridge on shopping trips and stand guard outside changing rooms while she tries on clothes, the Daily Star reported.
The Duchess was horrified this week when a German newspaper printed a sneaky picture of her. The photographer had clicked his shutter just as the future queen’s dress billowed up in a gust of wind on a visit to Sydney’s Blue mountains during her official tour of Australia last month.
“Kate will now be watched all the time. We can’t afford any more embarrassing photos like this,” a royal source was quoted as saying by the daily. British newspapers refused to print the photo, saying it was in bad taste and an invasion of Kate’s privacy.
However, the editor of Bild splashed it in the German tabloid. The Palace officials are now worried that Kate might fall prey to more sneaky shots taken by unscrupulous professional photographers or by opportunistic members of the public using their mobile phone cameras, the daily said. (PTI)
