Allegation baseless, malafied: M’laya Medical Association
SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Medical Service Association (MMSA) on Tuesday came out in the defence of the doctor in charge of Mawsynram CHC who has been accused of running his private clinic on the premises of the CHC, saying that the allegations against the doctor were brought out by ‘certain vested interests’ who had taken part in the tendering process with regards to the awarding of the contract work in the CHC.
The MMSA was reacting to the FKJGP Mawsynram circle’s allegation that the doctor in charge of Mawsynram CHC was running a private clinic inside the health centre.
“We would come up with the names of all ‘players’ who had taken part in the tender process at a later stage,” MMSA general secretary Dr Aman War said in a statement on Tuesday.
He said that the MMSA was concerned over the unwanted and defamatory allegation made against the doctor.
“We had earlier deputed a fact finding team and it was found that all the allegations were baseless, unfounded and malafide. The MMSA has noted that such baseless allegation has only managed to dampen the spirit and the morale of the doctors and staff of the CHC,” Dr. War said.
The MMSA general secretary added that the Association was ‘very proud’ of the doctor in charge of Mawsynram CHC for rendering good and appreciated services to the sick and needy people of the area.
“We have already decided that we will have no other recourse but to take extreme steps even approaching the court of law since criminal allegations have been made against the doctor which are totally false and laced with a touch of malafide intent,” he said.
Dr. War, further, noted that the CHC was providing service and helping the people of the area even at odd hours of the day and the local village Dorbar had also appreciated the efforts of the Government in setting up the CHC.
