SHILLONG: The Catholic Association of Khasi and Jaintia Hills, which met at the Archbishop’s House here on June 7 under the chairmanship of J A Lyngdoh has condemned in the strongest terms possible the brutal and inhuman killing of Josbina Sangma, a mother of four minors, by suspected Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) cadres on June 3, at Chokpot in the Garo Hills.

Besides reproaching the perpetrators of the crime in the strongest terms possible, the Catholic Association also expressed condolences to the family of the slain woman.

It also urged the State Government to hunt down those involved in “the most reprehensible and monstrous crime and mete out strong action against them as per provisions of the law”.

The Association also offered special prayer for the repose of Josbina’s soul.
