FIR against CID officer

One Ranadhar Dhar lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that on December 7, 2013 at around 3 pm, Anjan Chakraborty, Inspector of Police (CID), Shillong, went to his shop at GS Road, Shillong and offered to supply cameras to him. Later, he took one camera valued around Rs. 14,000 from his shop as sample piece but did not return the same till date.

Coal trucks

On June. 21, during mobile patrolling at Deinchynrum area (EJH), Khliehriat Police detected two coal laden trucks (ML-04B-1121) and (ML-04B-5730).

Church vandalized

On June 21 night, unknown miscreants entered the Catholic Church at Mawkisyiem, Sohra (EKH) and vandalized the Church property.

Trafficking case

Bina Sangma lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on June 10 around 8 am, one 17-year-old girl was found missing from AMD Complex, Nongmynsong, Shillong. Later, it transpired that two women identified as Lima and Tuna of Pynthorumkhrah, Shillong, took the girl on the pretext to provide her with a job at Bengaluru. On reaching Kolkata, she managed to escape and reported the matter to the Police. On June 19, 2014, she was brought to Shillong.

Bangladeshis trespass

On June 19 around 1.30 pm, one differently abled person suspected to be Bangladeshi national was found loitering in Tyllaw village (EKH).

On June 19 night, suspected Bangladeshi nationals broke into the house of one Topon Sarkar at Zero Point Borsora and stole two 12-volts batteries and one cell phone.

Woman raped

One woman from Madanrting, Shillong lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on June 18 around 5.30 pm, she travelled along with one Wanplida-o War in his private vehicle from Shillong towards Jowai. On reaching at Wahmynsoo Mookyndur (WJH), he raped her inside the vehicle. Police arrested the accused.

Timber theft

On June 18 night, Police personnel of Rongsak apprehended one Head R Marak (29 ) for illegally removing timbers from Rongrenggre Reserve Forest (EGH) by a truck (AS-18C-3495).

Body recovered

On June 22 around 8 am, body of Robun A Sangma, a Peon of Forest Department was recovered from a stream at Ringrey Gittim, Tura (WGH). Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was sent to Civil Hospital Tura.

On June 24 around 8 am, Police recovered one severed head and an arm of a new born baby (1-2 day old) from the compound of Chote Lal Rai at Law-U-Sib, Shillong. A search was conducted in the area but the body of the baby could not be found.

Assault

On June 24 around 3.30 am, one Bablu Rai assaulted Sunita Devi (30 yrs) in her residence at Oxford Hills, Rilbong, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong. Matter is under enquiry.

On June 10 around 12 noon, unidentified miscreants assaulted Welhilo Krome at NEHU Campus, Mawlai, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.

Theft

Phonis Khongsit lodged a complaint at Pynursla PS that on June 16, unknown miscreants stole two GI pipes connecting Wahumkhat main pipeline at Nongmadan Shadsngi (EKH).

Document misuse

Plenty Syiem of Kharmalki, Shillong lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on June 1, 2000, she had handed over documents pertaining to Hima Nongmynsaw to one Hindro Samakha and S.P. Nongphud with a written undertaking that the same will be returned after making photocopies of the same. However, till date the documents have not been returned back and the accused are reportedly misusing the documents for their personal gains.
