Ri Bhoi District Advocates under the banner of the Nongpoh Bar Association had been allotted one room within the DC’s Office building for executing different cases, but the very sudden decision and order of the DC to vacate the room now poses hardship for the Association for carrying their service to the people of the district.

As written clearly in the letter issued to the Bar Association, it is cited that the DC had instructed the Association to vacate the room within a week’s time and the room will be allotted to the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (Integrated Basin Development Livelihood & Promotion Programme).

Informing about this to The Shillong Times here, President of Nongpoh Bar Association C.M Adhikari informed that, relating to this matter the Association had informed the District and Session judge of Nongpoh Judicial Branch and urged him to take up the matter with the DC, but the approach ended in vain as the Association has to vacate the room and stop their service.
