W R Lyngdoh EE (PWD NH) told the members of the NGOs that the work had been allotted to Shri M Lyngdoh, a contactor of Smit at an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 crore. He also informed that the work was in progress and that the PWD were making all efforts to execute and complete the work at the earliest.

Mawkordor Syiemlieh President WYF told Shillong Times that they appreciated the efforts of the PWD National Highway for their speedy action. Syiemlieh also requested the department and the contactor to ensure the early completion of the project as the bad road condition was a burden to local people that commuted along the stretch on a daily basis.

He also highlighted that the road was especially bad these days as the monsoon had delivered its onslaught on the road. Syiemlieh also appealed to the people of Nongstoin to have patience as they had waited for so long for the repair of the road and that soon they would enjoy the fruit of their long wait.
