Arrest

Police arrested one Bisno M Sangma (18) from Norek Bollonggre under Songsak PS East Garo Hills in connection with an attempted murder under Williamnagar police station.

Assault

On July 6, one Tisha Nongbri (27) assaulted an eleven year old minor girl at Jata Nongbri (EKH). As a result the victim sustained injuries and was removed to Nazareth Hospital.

On July 6 at around 8.20 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Chandan Rai (23) at Police Bazar, Shillong. As a result the victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.

On July 3 at around 5.30pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted two BSNL staffs namely Santosh Kumar and Bindeswar Bhagat at Panaliar, Jowai, West Jaintia Hills.

Bike rider killed

On July 6 at around 1pm, one Maruti Car (ML-05-2969) driven by one Rapsang Ryngskar (25) dashed against one Motorcycle (ML-05F-0546) ridden by Sarju Chettri (25) at Demseiniong, Shillong. As a result the motorcycle rider died on the spot and his cadaver later was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong for PM examination.

Truckers injured

On July 6 at around 3 pm, an accident took place at Mawryngkneng National Highway between truck (WB-57B-0275) driven by Saqibal Islam (35) and truck (AS-01D-4991) driven by Joel Jamatia (60). As a result both the truck drivers sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Recovery

On July 6 at around 7am, unknown miscreants stole a motorcycle (ML-05H-9066) belonging to one Alvesiz Nongkhlaw from Nongrim Hills, opposite NEC building, Shillong. On July7 the motorcycle was recovered from Nongrim Hills, near Meghalaya Housing Finance Corporation, Shillong.

Theft

On July 4 at around 2.30 am, unknown miscreants broke into the house of one Amilton Marbaninag at Mission Compound, Shillong and stole cash Rs. 21,000.

One Benjamin Marak lodged a complaint at Tura police station that on July 3 night, unknown miscreants stole his Bolero Camper (ML-08C-8370) from Tetengkol, Tura, West Garo Hills.

ATMs damaged

On July 4, unknown miscreants vandalized the SBI ATM at Garikhana, Shillong.

On July at 2 around 2 pm, unknown miscreants vandalized the SBI ATM monitor glass at MES, Rynjah, Shillong.

Pipes missing

M. Shullai, JE, PHE lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on July 4, during site inspection at Sohphoh Water Supply Scheme in West Jaintia Hills , he found that twenty-three numbers of 50mm diameter GI pipes were missing from the site.

ATM fraud

A woman identified as Deepa Ojha lodged a complaint at Rynjah police station hat on July 3 at around 10.30am, one Rahul Verma called her over phone and informed that her ATM Card has been deactivated, hence, to provide the card registration number and PIN. Later the accused fraudulently debited Rs. 30,530/- from her account.

PDS wheat denied

On June 25 and June 26, women identified as Orisa Mawlong and D. Mylliem of Nongmadan in East Khasi Hills were deprived of PDS wheat by the village headman, Brad Nongrum on flimsy grounds, as per the police reports.
