2-hr extended transmission of DDK Shillong begins

SHILLONG: The extended transmission of Doordarshan Kendra Shillong was inaugurated on August 15 at the studios of DDK Shillong at Laitkor by Additional Director General of Doordarshan (programme and administration) C. Lalrosanga in the presence of a distinguished gathering.

The local transmission of the Kendra has been extended for two hours from 7 pm to 9 pm every day. The local transmission timing of the Kendra will now be from 3 pm to 9 pm. The transmission from 3 pm to 6:45 pm will be available both on terrestrial and satellite mode, while the extended transmission from 7 pm to 9 pm will be available only on satellite mode.

Addressing the gathering, Lalrosanga said Doordarshan Kendra Shillong has become the first station in the North East to have an extended transmission which will bring more visibility to the programmes generated in the Kendra.

Congratulating the staff of the Kendra, Lalrosanga said Meghalaya is rich in culture history and music and it is imperative that the public broadcaster continues to strive towards the goal of providing a platform for the huge talent available in the State in these sectors.
