Trader abducted, militant lynched

SHILLONG: A militant was lynched by public after unidentified gunmen abducted a trader from a market in West Garo Hills on Wednesday. The incident took place at Chibinang market, near Phulbari town, about 105 km from Tura at around 7pm.

IG (operation) GHP Raju said seven to eight persons first abducted a trader identified Jahanuddin. However, as they were fleeing, public caught hold of four militants and lynched one of them. The three others — Nepan Rabha (27), Krebath Sangma (26) and Satyajeet Rabha (24) — were shifted to Phulbari police station.
