SPL: Langsning pip lacklustre Nangkiew

SHILLONG: Langsning eased to a 2-0 win over Nangkiew Irat in a Shillong Premier League match at the JN Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

S. Nongrum and H. Marboh scored a goal each for the winners who got the better of a visibly lacklustre Nangkiew. After a goalless first half, it took Langsning only two minutes to take the lead with S. Nongrum providing the breakthrough. They held on to the narrow one goal lead until stoppage time when Marboh finished off in style.

Meanwhile in Wednesday’s Second Division ncounter, Ryntih edged past Umpling riding on a D. Syih 11th minute goal.

Elsewhere in Ground II, Marbisu thrashed Pynthorbah 3-0 in a third division match. Forward J. Kurbah scored in the 24th minute before D. Malngiang doubled the lead in the 41st minute. G. Langstieh swelled the victory margin for his side by scoring another one in the 53rd minute. In another match, a steady Qualapatty registered a 2-0 win against Sawmer. T. Sohtun (11th minute) and H. Langstieh (61st minute) were the scorers for Qualapatty.

Second Division: Nongthymmai vs Mawpat, 4 pm.

Third Division: Laitkor vs Jongksha, 1:45 pm; Risa Colony vs Madanryting, 4:15 pm.
