Nongstoin College Alumni body formed

NONGSTOIN: The ex-students of Nongstoin College in West Khasi Hills in a meeting held on Saturday at Nongstoin College elected new office bearers of the Nongstoin College Alumni Association.

The meeting attended by hundred of past students of the College elected P. Hoojon as president, S. Nongtnger, present Superintendent of Police, West Khasi Hills, as vice president, Rev. B. Thongni as secretary, Bijoy Syiem as asst. general secretary, R. Syiem as publicity secretary, Step Phyrnai Kharmyndai as education secretary, Josephas Thongni as cultural secretary and Sita Syiem as treasurer along with 20 other executive members.

The Association also appointed K.P. Pangniang, MLA & MDC of Rambrai- Jyrngam and an ex-student of the College, as the advisor of the Alumni Association while R.W. Syiemlieh was appointed as auditor.

Principal of Nongstoin College, B.K. Laitflang, who chaired over the function, reminded the gathering that the Alumni Association had a very important role to play in the development and progress of the College.
