NYKS gender equity training concludes

SHILLONG: A three-day Gender Equity training organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) Meghalaya Zone concluded on Wednesday with maximum exposure and information given to the participants on the crucial issues pertaining to gender equity.

As part of the training, a special interaction and discussion session was held in which Ms. Anni, Coordinator of State Women’s Commission, spoke and emphasized on Gender and Education, Gender and Health, Gender and Violence Human Trafficking.

Resource person M. Mukherjee, a Gender Consultant, spoke on issues of gender and family and social construction of gender.

Another resource person, Rebina Subha from the Meghalaya from Legal Right Forum, spoke on issues of gender sensitive legal measures and gender and human rights.

Methodology of Power Points presentation, group discussion, role play and interaction was also used in the training.

All the participants were provided with notes, handouts and literature on gender issues, and in the valedictory ceremony certificates were awarded to the participants.
