Jammu: Asserting that people in the border did not want India to stop its response till Pakistan surrenders, Union Minister in PMO, Jitendra Singh on Wednesday said that troops are firing four bullets for each bullet fired by Pakistan along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Where one bullet is being fired (on us by Pakistan), we are giving a befitting replying with four bullets,” Singh told reporters in border belt of Kathua district on Wednesday.
“I am very happy, satisfied and proud of the morale of the people, who are saying that they are satisfied this time with the kind of reply by our forces,” he said.
He was replying to questions on ceasefire violations along IB and India’s reply to it that resulted in migration of the people.
“Entire world has seen the Pakistan firing on civilian areas here. Pakistan have now understood that the environment has changed after change of the government at the Centre. It is not an old situation,” he said.
“After several years, it is for the first time that our troops have given a befitting reply,” the Union Minister, who visited several border areas and camps in Kathua district’s Hiranagar sector, said. “They (people) have told me to urge the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister that this time this befitting reply should continue till the Pakistan feels sorry for its acts and surrenders its weapons itself,” he said.
