Assault
On January 12 at around 12.30 pm, one Los Kharkongor assaulted Benjamin Kharumnuid (46 yrs) at Mawshbuit (EKH). Victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.
On January 11 at about 9 am, one Zaffar Sheikh (31 yrs) assaulted Saljrang S. Sangma (24 yrs) at Cleve Colony, Shillong, causing injuries to him.
On January 10 at around 8 pm, one person identified as Babu assaulted Ankur Rai (50 yrs) at Dong Umkdait, Nongmynsong, Shillong.
Memorial Lamare lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on December 31 Niwi Lamare assaulted her (complainant) daughter viz., Emlut Lamare at Thangrain village (WJH).
Theft
On January 12 at around 7 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Maruti car (ML-04A-7306) from Lummawrie, Laitumkhrah.
On January 11, unknown miscreants broke into the residence of Jonassi G Wahlang at Mawlai, Nongmali, Shillong and stole one TV set, three gold plated chain and other valuable documents.
On January 9 morning, unknown miscreants broke into the residence of Christine V. Yoso at Umling, Shillong and stole clothes and other household articles valued around Rs. 13,499/-.
J.V. Lyngdoh, Superintending Engineer, PWD (Roads), Western Circle, Nongstoin lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on the night of December 30unknown miscreants broke into his Government quarter at Nongstoin (WKH) and stole cash Rs. 1000/- and important documents, etc.
One knocked down
On January 12 at around 7.15 pm, one Maruti local taxi (ML-05F-2108) knocked down Sangita Baitha (14 yrs) at Nongmynsong, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to NEIGRHIMS.
Newborn’s body found
On January 12 afternoon body of a newly born male baby was recovered from Housing Colony, Williamnagar (EGH). Cadaver was sent CH Williamnagar for PM examination
Rape
Md. Abdul Kolil lodged a complaint at Phulbari PS that on January 10 around 11 pm, one Md. Naobahar Ali entered into a house at Silkata (WGH) and raped a 13-year-old girl.
One dead
On January 8 at around 5.20 pm, one scooter (WB-70-7215) ridden by Fridingstone M Sangma dashed against one Maruti car ML-08D-3377) driven by Tangkam B Marak at Bormanpara (SWGH). As a result, the rider of scooter died on the spot while one pillion rider sustained injuries and was shifted to PHC Kalaichar.
