MUDA yet to act on NGT order

SHILLONG: A fortnight after the NGT order to identify and dismantle illegal structures along Wahumkhrah and Umshyrpi, MUDA is yet to begin the exercise.
It was on January 29 that the NGT made the order regarding cleansing of the rivers banks.
The Principal Secretary, Urban Affairs and Municipal  P Naik told reporters on Wednesday  that the department was yet to get the NGT order.
The official also said that the department will also examine an earlier order of High Court of 2011 which had made certain observations regarding the pending case related to dismantling of illegal structures along Wahumkhrah.
