SHILLONG: All Regional Parties Alliance (ARPA) on Monday made a recommendation before the Meghalaya Governor for the inclusion of Independent MDC  James Sylliang in the Executive Committee (EC)of  KHADC once a new CEM is elected.
Adelbert Nongrum is still continuing as the CEM of KHADC in the absence of the election of a new CEM.
Besides Sylliang, another Independent MDC  Grace Mary Kharpuri recently extended  support to ARPA after she left and joined the Congress led PDF.
Sources on Monday said that though Kharpuri had left the ARPA collation only to join back later, her resignation from the EC was not accepted by the Chief Executive Member, which means that she would also be part of the EC.
While the PDF in a letter addressed to the Governor recently sought a special session of KHADC for a trial of strength,  ARPA  has also written to the Governor for the election of the new CEM as ARPA has projected Metbah Lyngdoh as the new  leader.
Meanwhile, a special session was held in KHADC to deliberate on the 14th Finance Commission recommendations and various schemes of the State Government meant for the Council.
The members were also informed about the budget prepared for districts which fall under the jurisdiction of KHADC especially for the schedule areas of East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi.
