Cyber security project launched in Nagaland

Kohima: National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima, in association with the Department of School Education of Nagaland government has launched the Cyber Security Project.
According to an official release today, a state level inter-school quiz competition on cyber security was organised and conducted by the NIELIT under the project which was launched yesterday.
The programme, funded by Centre’s Department of Electronics and IT was held at NIELIT.
Zaveyi Nyekha, Director of Directorate of School Education and the chief guest of the competition, spoke on the importance of cyber security in view of the national security priorities.
He highlighted the increasing dependency of the masses on digital facilities and services for many activities, the risks involved thereby, and exhorted the audience saying, “we all have a role to play” for staying secured in the cyber space.
Lanuwabang, Deputy Director of the institute delivered the keynote address, with a detailed appraisal on the visions of NIELIT.
He also spoke on how the project, which had its inception in 2012 has helped encompass within its vast realms. (UNI)
