Congress, NPP members tender resignations in GH

TURA: Former Congress MDC from 16-Asanang GHADC constituency, Kredithson Ch Marak, along with followers and members of his area resigned from the Congress party.
Informing this here the former MDC said he took the decision to resign due to negligence by the party authority.
Meanwhile, secretary of South Tura Block NPP, Jamindro R Marak, also submitted his resignation from his current post as well as from the primary membership of the party to NPP president P.A. Sangma.

Infant’s body recovered from EGH cemetery

SHILLONG: In a shocking incident, the body of an unidentified infant girl was recovered from Rangmalbadim cemetery in East Garo Hills District on Friday.
Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was sent to Williamnagar Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Woman allegedly molested inside cab in city

SHILLONG: A woman passenger was allegedly molested inside a local taxi here.
Police said that the incident happened on Sunday evening around 6.30 pm at Fire Brigade area and the accused is said to be an unidentified co-passenger.
Police said they were investigating into the matter.

City resident wins magic competition in Assam

SHILLONG: City-based amateur magician Levis June Lyngkhoi has emerged winner in a magic competition held on September 9 at Guwahati organized by North East Magic Academy in memory of legendary magician of Assam, Jadu Samrat M. Hussain, on his death anniversary.
Lyngkhoi, a resident of Pynthorbah, emerged winner both in the close up category and stage magic. The judges were from West Bengal and Assam.
Lyngkhoi learnt magic under the guidance of senior magician Philip Pariat at Highland Magic Society, Laitumkhrah.

Three held for obscenities

SHILLONG: Residents of Mawlai MECOFED on Thursday last apprehended three persons for indulging in obscene activities.
Police said that the incident happened on September 10 when residents of Mawlai MECOFED nabbed three persons who were allegedly indulging in obscene activities inside their vehicle.
All of them were handed over to the police for further action.
