Awareness programme on ‘green habits’ held

SHILLONG: The YWCA, Shillong in collaboration with NEEDS organised an awareness programme on ‘Green Habits and Solid Waste Management’ at Garo Union High School in the city.  The programme was chaired by an assistant teacher of the school, K Sangma, who highlighted the significance of solid waste management in Shillong.
The resource person, Programme Coordinator NEEDS, Edward Thma gave a detailed presentation on the various issues of Solid Waste Management and Green Habits. The programme also included ‘up scaling’ where inorganic materials which can be reused and recycled were demonstrated.  The programme was attended by around 200 students
