SHILLONG: The ruling PDF has received a shot in the arm when Nongthymmai MDC Latiplang Kharkongor has decided to extend his unconditional support to the Executive Committee headed by Pynshngaiñ N Syiem.
The MDC made known his decision in a letter to Pynshngaiñ N Syiem on Tuesday.
The support of Kharkongor has come at a time when the EC is contemplating to take on the State Government “for its attempt to infringe into the jurisdiction of the Council.”
It may be recalled that Kharkongor was one of the three MDCs (two others being Pyniaid Sing Syiem, Teilinia Thangkhiew) and Nongkrem MLA Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit who did not oppose the government’s move to implement Meghalaya Building Bye Laws, 2011 in the Scheduled areas. The Nongthymmai MDC is also known as an ardent supporter of Basaiawmoit.
