SHILLONG: UDP legislator Paul Lyngdoh has projected the party as an alternate to both Congress and NPP in the upcoming GHADC polls.
Lyngdoh, who returned from Garo Hills after campaigning for the party candidates, expressed confidence on Thursday that the UDP will perform reasonably well in the GHADC polls. As many as 14 UDP are in fray for GHADC polls.According to the UDP leader, people are disenchanted with both Congress and NPP and the UDP is aiming to cash in on the vacuum.
Lyngdoh also expressed concern over the overall neglect of Garo Hills, though it had potential in many fields.
“A look at the current situation reveals that Garo Hills needs a healing touch,” Lyngdoh said.
