NONGSTOIN: The body of a person identified as Jinus Starwell Shangrit (24), a resident of Nongpyndeng village, was found floating in his own lake at Porsohmynkhar, Nongpyndeng on Sunday morning.
Passers-by noticed the body and informed the neighbours at around 12 noon on Sunday.
The neighbours later informed the police who took the body for postmortem. Sources informed that Shangrit, an assistant organising secretary of KSU, Nongpyndeng Unit, was alone and watching over the lake when the incident occurred.
Sources also said that the incident was suspected to have occurred on Saturday night. The neighbours suspect foul play as marks were found on the victim’s body.
