Accident

On October 16 at around 5 am, one Maruti Van (ML- 05F-6385) driven by Trackstar Kharjana fatally knocked down Shaisngi Thabah (33 years) at Langleng village under Sohiong OP (East Khasi Hills).

Bangladeshi apprehended

On October 15 at about 6.30 am, residents of Moodymmai, Diengthare, NH-44 (West Jaintia Hills) apprehended one Bangladeshi national, Md. Saddam Hussein (23 years) from the village. Police arrested the intruder.

Assault

On October 15 at around 8 pm, unknown miscreants assaulted Philip Kharkongor (28 years) near Wards Lake. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Shillong Civil Hospital. On October 17 at around 11.15 am, unidentified miscreants assaulted Bharat Chettri (29 years) near Anjalee Cinema Hall. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

Theft

On October 15, E.R.M Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that she detected unknown miscreants have stolen 18 vehicle batteries from her vehicles which were parked in her compound at Dhankheti. On October 14 night, unknown miscreants broke into the hardware shop belonging to Austin Nongrum at Laitumkhrah, Nongkynrih and stole valuable items. On October 17 morning, unknown miscreants stole iron scraps valued around Rs. 20,000/- from the premises of Don Bosco Technical School, Laitumkhrah. On October 16 at around 6.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one scooty (A/F) belonging to Mickle M.K., from a parking lot, Laitumkhrah. On October 16 night, unknown miscreants stole five tolas of gold, cash Rs. 11,000/-, one passbook and clothes from the house of Eugine Khongai near M/s Banalari World Cars, Mawlai, Shillong
