SVEEP campaign in Tura on Oct 31

SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner (Election), West Garo Hills, has informed that a kite flying and aero show has been fixed for October 31 at New Tura Playground to enhance participation in the electoral process initiated under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electors’ Participation (SVEEP).
SVEEP campaign focuses on maximization of voters’ enrolment and correction of entries in the electoral rolls as per instruction from the Election Commission of India. A special summary revision of photo electoral rolls is being held from October 16 to November 10, wherein claims and objections can be filed for inclusion, correction, deletion and transposition at the notified polling stations to the Booth Level Officers during the period for filing of claims and objections.
Meanwhile, special campaign dates with booth level agents and political parties for receiving claims and objections will run till October 31.
SVEEP held in Resubelpara, Jowai
In Resubelpara, North Garo Hills as part of SVEEP, the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Election) organised a kite flying competition cum show at Resubelpara mini stadium on Wednesday.
Hundreds of people participated in the competition cum show, where Mailo R Sangma bagged the first prize of Rs.3000 along with citation. Akram G Momin won the second prize of Rs. 2000 while Sarling Marak secured the third prize of Rs 1000.
As part of the Systematic Voter’s Education & Electoral Participation, Special Summary of Electoral Rolls, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Election), West Jaintia Hills, organized a kite festival and helicopter show at Jrisalein Playground on Wednesday to create awareness among the electorates and to encourage the youth to get themselves enrolled in the electoral roll.
