SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Agrovet Private Limited (MAPL) has clarified that it consulted the Bethany Society on an advisory role to help MAPL for the waste management while engaging in poultry farming in Ri Bhoi.
However, the MAPL said that there was no formal tie up with Bethany Society.
Reacting to a news report item appeared in a section of the press on November 16, the MAPL said that it had asked the Bethany Society to help convert the litter waste into organic fertilizer at a hillock nearby and also in acquiring some of their products that is used in mixing with the litter from the sheds.
The Director, Bhalang Singh Phanbuh had personally visited the office of the Bethany Society to seek their expertise and the Society had rendered their support by sending their experts to MAPL. Bethany Society had visited MAPL units on a few occasions to guide MAPL in converting litter waste into organic fertilizer.
“Thus, the management believes that the only differences that caused the misunderstanding were the words used ‘tie up’ instead of consultation/advisory’, MAPL said. During the inspection made by the officials of MSPCB and KHADC, the Director had made this statement verbally on the site of the spot inspection and not in writing that Bethany Society had rendered its services “, the MAPL said. MAPL added that there was no misuse of the respected name of Bethany Society in the reports of the officials but only an error in not using the right word for the work done.
