SHILLONG: It has been a month since head constable Khomraj Bhattarai  was abducted by suspected GNLA militants from a remote area in  North Garo Hills  but till now there is no information regarding  his whereabouts.
A senior police official on Saturday said that search operations were on and police teams were also taking the help of the villagers to trace him.
Police official also said that there is no confirmation where he has been killed by the militants.
Bhattarai  and one more person, who was released recently, were abducted from a public vehicle travelling through a remote area of North Garo Hills district on November 6
Recently, the High Court had directed the State government to look into the matter and provide ex-gratia as per rules to the next of  the kin of the policeman immediately.
According to the police official, the family received the full salary of the abducted cop.
Though the needle of suspicion is towards GNLA for the abduction, the banned outfit has already distanced itself from it.
