GNLA militant behind attack on CRPF team surrenders

Tura: A hardcore GNLA militant who took part in an ambush on a CRPF patrol party leading to two security force personnel sustaining bullet injuries in 2014 has given himself to police in North Garo Hills district.
GNLA cadre Pensing A Sangma who went by the names of Belbong and Cherakpa surrendered in Resubelpara without any weapon.
In 2014 he took part in a GNLA attack on a CRPF security team at Bolsal Ading village in which two paramilitary force personnel sustained injuries. The surrendered cadre was part of GNLA area commander Rakban D Shira alias Philiport’s team and the outfit’s cadres reportedly used his house to take shelter.
On the same day a militant of the now disbanded AMEF outfit also surrendered and handed over a demand letter pad of the group. Rakwil R Sangma alias Dikrong surrendered in North Garo Hills.
