39 children rescued from ‘orphanage’

SHILLONG: The district administration of Ri Bhoi on Thursday rescued 39 children from an orphanage, which was functioning illegally.
Informing this, a senior government said that the children were rescued from “Home of Hope” orphanage at Maikhuki area.
The rescued children are from different states of   North East    and they have been brought to the Government-run shelter home in Shillong, the official said.
A case has been registered against the owner of the orphanage.
