SHILLONgG: TEDxIIMShillong comes to IIM Shillong on Saturday inviting speakers from across the country to the educational hub of Northeast India with a mission to share ideas which have had or will have a lasting impact on people’s lives.
Created with a mission of ‘ideas worth spreading’, TEDx supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their community.
The theme for this year’s event is ‘Confluence in Conflict’, strategically chosen to enhance peace-keeping in a world engaged in strife.
Speakers expected at the event are well known personalities from different field like Anamika Khanna, International fashion designer, Diwakar Vaish 3D developer, Praveen Thipsay, Indian Chess Grandmaster, Ritumoni Das, PhD Scholar and co-founder at Kat-Katha, an NGO, Richa Singh, online fundraiser, Krushnaa Patil, the youngest Indian woman to successfully scale Mount Everest and Sridhar Lakshmaman, CEO-ecoLOGIN.
IIM Shillong aims to use this platform to gain global recognition.
Their second edition had grabbed the attention of the TED community which invited the license holder to TEDGlobal in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
With all in place, the event is expected to match equal, if not, greater heights, a statement issued by IIM Shillong said.
