National Science Day celebrations on Feb 26, 27

SHILLONG: The State Council of Science, Technology & Environment, Meghalaya along with the Shillong Science Centre is organising a two day celebration of the National Science Day cum decade long journey of the Shillong Science Centre in collaboration with NEHU & MBDA on February 26 & 27.
The event will be held at the Convention Hall, NEHU and Shillong Science Centre, NEHU campus, Mawkynroh, respectively, with the theme ‘Science for Development’.
Students selected from the 39 C&RD Blocks through competitions held at their respective blocks will participate along with students from the city in various competitions which will be organised during these two days.
The main attractions include   marathon run, a placard rally from Polo Ground to Shillong Science Centre on February 27 from 9 AM, night sky viewing on February 26 from 5.30 PM, science film shows, popular science lectures, etc.
Besides, there will also be a science exhibitions cum fair to be participated by 22 Central and State scientific agencies along with the DBT Natural Resources Awareness Clubs from different schools of the State during these two days.
Also, the National Science Day celebration will be organised at the NEHU Campus, Tura on March 1. Chief Minister Mukul Sangma will be the chief guest in both the functions.
