BSF civic action prog in WJ Hills

JOWAI: As part of its civic action programme, the 19 Bn. of BSF Huroi Border Out Post organised a programme on Tuesday and distributed useful items like sports materials, water storage tanks, chairs and tables and school bags to residents of Huroi and Hingaria villages in Jaintia Hills.
Addressing the programme, DIG, BSF Jowai Sector, N.D. Bahuguna stressed on the need for the border populace and the BSF to work hand-in-hand for maintaining peace and harmony.
“Our children are the future of our Nation and our well educated children will propel respective family, locality, state and nation towards prosperity and well being,” he said.
Besides distribution of materials, a medical camp attracted 200 children, more than 100 women and around 70 men.
The programme was also attended by BSF Deputy Commandant (R), M.E. Zingkhai, besides others.
