‘BJP for Cong-free Meghalaya’

SHILLONG: The Assam Cabinet Minister in charge  PWD, fisheries and excise, Parimal  Suklabaidya has said that the BJP hopes to have a change in Meghalaya and other Northeasters states by replacing the Congress  governments.
Speaking to reporters at Assam House here on Friday night,  Suklabaidya, who is leading a delegation of seven legislators to  Barak Valley,  to assess the development there, said that the party wanted the whole Northeast to be free from the Congress rule.
Asked particularly whether the BJP will play any role in toppling the Congress-led government in Meghalaya, the Assam Minister said that the party is not interested in any such game, but hinted that with the positive outcome of the Assam Assembly elections, there  will be change of governments in the Northeast in the next elections.
Jowai-Silchar road: Concerned over the accidents in the Jowai-Silchar road, the PWD Minister said that during his tour, he will personally assess the ground reality and ensure that the existing road is completed within a year.
