SHILLONG: Police are awaiting the Forensic Sciences Laboratory (FSL) report into the sensational and brutal rape and murder of a 19-year-old girl whose body was recovered from 4 1/2 Mile, Upper Shillong in March this year.
Police said they were awaiting the FSL report after which they would file the charge sheet into the case.
Soon after the incident, the mother of the accused had handed her son, Vicky Syiemlieh, 24, over to police.
The girl went missing after coming out of the house which prompted the family to launch a manhunt.
The girl was found at around midnight at a forest close to her residence, following which she was rushed to Shillong civil hospital where she was declared brought dead.
