KHADC to resort to technology to curb truancy

SHILLONG: By July 1, the KHADC will install punching machines and other gadgets to curb truancy and to promote better work culture in the council.
This was informed by KHADC CEM P.N. Syiem in reply to the issue raised by HSPDP’s M. Mawsor on the work culture in the council during the general discussion.
“It is reported that some staff play truant and many a time people find it difficult because they cannot meet the staff,” complained Mawsor.
Likewise, Independent MDC Donkupar Sumer said, “We need administrative reforms; work is being processed at a very slow pace.”
In this connection the CEM, said, “We have to send our employees to Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute to learn necessary skills.”
